Magnolia Gardens, our Bria Community located in Langley, is looking for a part-time Recreation Assistant to join our team. Together, we create safe and vibrant communities, where choices are valued and seniors lead active and purposeful lives.
Why Bria Needs You?
Reporting to the Recreation Manager, or designate, the Recreation Assistant plays a key role in ensuring that residents have ample activity programs that meet their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and cultural needs. Working closely with the Recreation Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and carrying out daily activity programs including exercise classes, entertainment, crafts and related activities which encourage involvement and independence.
Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 26 hours/week. Typical shifts would be 9:30 am - 4:00/5:00 pm.

You must have compassion for others and the ability to provide a high quality of care service.
We need a high energy and upbeat personality who can be playful, patient and respectful all at the same time.
You are open to learning new skills, participate in ongoing training, and have good communication both written and spoken.
You have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a senior care environment and/or a customer service environment.

What You Will Do!
Driving the Bria bus to take residents on outings
Assisting in the development and production of monthly activity calendars and other informational material for residents
Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ functional and cognitive behaviour to the Manager
Maintains a current knowledge of an complies with all facility policies and procedures
Ensures residents’ rights of privacy and confidentiality are maintained except in the proper operation of the business
Your Must Haves!
Diploma in a Recreation Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
Class 4 driving license is an asset
Physically and mentally able to carry out assigned duties
Current Basic First Aid Certificate
