Senior Estimator
Century Group Construction Division (CGCC) is now seeking an experienced and hardworking Senior Estimator to join our team!
The Sr. Estimator will support the Company’s procurement process by deriving the greatest potential economic value from goods and services that are purchased to develop Century Group’s communities. Required to work in collaboration with their leader to consistently support and uphold Century Group’s strategic objectives and values.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for performing quantity takeoffs using OnScreen Takeoff.
Prepares Budget Estimates.
Maintains Subtrade Database.
Compiles and transmits tender packages for trade and supplier tendering.
Supports the tendering process including preparation of scopes of work, tender packages, and the evaluation of bids for contract awards.
Assists in Value Engineering by providing alternative inputs to specified materials and/or products or services.
Education & Experience
Requires a diploma or certificate in Architectural or Building Engineering, or Certificate, diploma or degree in Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or a related field; and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in residential and/or commercial construction estimating. 3-5 years of solid estimating experience. Experience with a developer or general contractor working on residential high rise projects from beginning to end. Strong negotiating skills. A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering is an asset.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of OnScreen Takeoff or similar software.
Strong G-suite/ Project skills including Google Docs, Sheets, etc.,, and Gmail.
Knowledge of Google Sheets is an asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with a win-win attitude.Goal-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.
High level of detail and accuracy in estimating.
Knowledge of residential single-family and multi-family and commercial construction.
Knowledge of purchasing and subcontract processes is an asset.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
