Century Group Lands Corporation is now seeking a Temporary (3 month) Landscaper to work closely with the Caretaker at Southlands.
Pay Rate: $18-20/hour
Reporting to our Caretaker, the Landscaper will be responsible for performing a variety of on-site tasks. The Landscaper will be a self starter and be able to work independently.
Assist Caretaker in the construction of landscapes and related structures, and to maintain lawns, gardens, and other landscaped areas of residential or commercial buildings.
Assist in constructing, renovating fences, decks, patios, and other wood structures.
Spread top-soil, lay sod, plant flowers, grass, shrubs and trees and perform other duties to assist with the construction of a landscape and related structures.
Cut grass, rake, fertilize and water lawns, weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees and perform other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor.
Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches. Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
Operate and maintain power mowers, tractors, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws and other landscape maintenance equipment.
Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments.
Other: Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time, and carry out strenuous physical tasks.
Requires lifting, pulling and carrying of equipment and other objects.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in landscaping and construction is considered a tremendous asset
A valid Class 5 driver's license is an asset
Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to communicate in basic English is a requirement
Ability to lift over 50 pounds
Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
