$206,128 Raised at Century Group Delta Health Classic
Phil Posehn, VP, Finance at Century Group, also the Organizing Chair of the fundraiser is pleased to announce that the Century Group Delta Health Classic was a great success. The 2016 fundraising tournament raised over $206,128, breaking the fundraising goal of $200,000 and surpassing last year’s record number. The Tournament was held on June 16th at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course and drew a turnout of approximately 150 golfers.
Century Group is the Title Sponsor this year, and also provided volunteers to offer behind-the-scenes support. From more than 30 volunteers who were an integral part of the organizing committee who tirelessly planned the event and provided support throughout the day, to generous donors from the community who participated as golfers—the event would not be a success without the support of everyone involved.
Together, volunteers and golfers played a key role in shaping the Tournament’s high profile reputation in Delta. For instance, volunteers who were part of the set-up crew braved the morning rain to set up tents and equipment at the holes. Other volunteers stood on their feet for hours at a time to greet and direct golfers.
As a result of this tournament, the Delta Hospital Foundation will be putting forward the balance of the funds to support Cancer Care at the Delta Hospital. The funds will allow for the purchasing of equipment that allows for earlier, faster and more precise diagnosis – so that we can see more patients regain their health.
These funds are only part of Century Group’s support of the Delta Hospital Foundation. In fact, over the last 15 years, Century has donated over $2 Million to the Delta Hospital Foundation and numerous volunteer hours.
We are proud of our involvement with the Delta Hospital Foundation. Pat yourselves on the back, volunteers and donors—you helped us put together a recording-breaking event. The Delta Hospital Foundation and Century Group could not have done it without you.
