3 Civic Plaza Connects with Surrey Libraries Literacy for Life Program
An integral part of Surrey City Centre’s transformation process involves not only the space, but the people. Surrey Libraries provides a full range of educational, recreational and leisure materials and services to meet a variety of needs of the diverse community. The Literacy for Life program is a driving force behind the change.
A part of the Literacy for Life program is the Read to Baby initiative. According to Fraser Health estimates, 20% of all babies in BC are born in Surrey. This program responds to the need for Early Literacy programs and services in the Surrey community. The Read to Baby program will deliver a resource kit to some of the most vulnerable newborns in Surrey.
On June 7th, Century Group hosted the launch of our mixed use hotel and residences, 3 Civic Plaza, at Surrey Centre Library and connected with the Library’s community initiatives. Century Group, through the 3 Civic Plaza development project, is pleased to partner with and support Surrey Libraries Read to Baby program and has seeded the initiative to help ensure a successful launch.
Cyndy Hill, Director of Development at Surrey Libraries says “we are very excited to receive a gift of $10,000 in support of the Read to Baby program, and appreciate your offer to challenge other developers in the area to match Century Group’s commitment. Thank you for your support, we are looking forward to building a strong relationship with Century Group.”
We look forward to building a strong community in Surrey City Centre.
