Imagine a New Front Door in Tsawwassen
Century Group is building a small-footprint cottage that represents the “missing middle housing” sought after by Tsawwassen residents. The Southlands Cottage Courtyard at the Tsawwaseen Town Centre Mall will feature a furnished one storey home with a loft, between 1,100 to 1,200-square-feet. The cottage is a Century Group collaboration with Tsawwassen architect Patrick Cotter and Smallworks Studios, a Vancouver-based building and design company known for their laneway housing. The site will also include a vegetable garden to help demonstrate the agricultural component of the Southlands development proposal as well as a water feature.
The Southlands neighbourhood will include a mix of town homes, small family homes, apartments, live-work studios and cottages. The cottages are ideal for someone who wants to downsize as well as first-time home buyers and starter families. This display captures a small slice of life in one of the Southlands cottage courtyards – a pocket neighbourhood that will consist of 6 to 10 smaller detached single-family homes. The courtyard carefully balances privacy with community.
In mid-June the cottage will open its doors, but in the meantime the public is welcome to explore the presentation centre inside the Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall across from the site.
