Meet ‘The Wexford’ — Our Newest Seniors’ Residence

A new independent living community for seniors is coming soon — located at the gateway to Tsawwassen at the of corner of 56th Avenue and 18th Street. It is part of the larger Northgate development project on the site previously occupied by Southpointe Academy.

The Wexford, developed to be a sister community to The Waterford, is a 4-storey independent living residence for seniors with 65 suites — about half the size of The Waterford. Sizes range from 510 to 585 sq.ft. for one bedroom suites and 673 to 776 sq.ft. for two bedroom suites. Both communities will be run by Craig Rumsby, newly appointed as Area General Manager for Delta.

Designed by architect Peter Dandyk and the interior design team at Hager International, this smaller, more intimate boutique building is ‘coastally inspired’. The Wexford is named after a coastal Irish town 45 km from the city of Waterford — a tribute to the Hodgins’ family heritage. We would like to acknowledge Susan Wilson, Director of Care at Magnolia Gardens, who came up with name 'The Wexford' for this new residence.

The community is located just outside the heart of Delta, with easy access to transit networks, recreation facilities and outdoor spaces, making it ideal for active seniors. Additional features include a full-service dining room, fitness centre, salon and expansive living room. Featuring views overlooking Boundary Bay and Mt. Baker, this new community offers a beautiful rooftop garden, an outdoor plaza, and convenient underground parking. Excursions and travel trips on The Bria Bus will also be a prominent feature for the community.

“This is going to be a great community for seniors looking to maintain their independence, as well as enjoy the social, homey atmosphere that Bria offers.” says Craig Rumsby. “I look forward to welcoming families to this new boutique property near the heart of Tsawwassen.”

The Wexford is fourth in the Bria Communities family of seniors’ residences, owned and operated by Century Group, which include The Waterford in Tsawwassen, and Magnolia Gardens and Sunridge Gardens in Langley. The Wexford is expected to open in Fall 2015.

Waiting lists are already filling up — and because of the demand we’ve started taking reservations for a limited number of suites. To find out more about The Wexford, book a tour of The Waterford with Craig Rumsby, Area General Manager by calling 604 948-4477 or by email Craig.Rumsby@BriaCommunities.ca.
