Three Truckloads of Toys Donated Through 'Stockings for Kids'
Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall and its merchants partnered with The Delta Optimist to coordinate a Deltassist Family and Community Services fundraising iniative called 'Stockings For Kids'. The program has been running for 19 years, with this year's fundraiser being the most successful to date.
The project makes an appeal to the community to help sponsor a stocking, fill it with appropriate new gifts, and return it to Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall for delivery and distribution by Deltassist Family and Community Services. Thanks to the Century Group Facilities Department who provided heavy lifting and delivery, over three truckloads and a trailer filled with toys were collected through community donations and delivered to the Deltassist facility. By the end of the campaign, 300 stockings that were available for ‘adoption’ were completely filled.
Together with our partners, staff, and the community, we hope to make the Christmas morning a memorable one for the children living in Delta.
