Team Effort Raises $1,340 for Big Brothers in One Week

The Community Engagement Committee at Century Group made up of a small group of volunteers announced the recruitment for a team of bowlers two weeks ago.

One week later the committee raised $1,340 and formed a team of 8 employees from the company's diverse business divisions to bowl for a good cause at Bowl for Big Brothers Classic. On Friday, April 7th, representatives from Coast Tsawwassen Inn, Bria, Barbican, and Finance, Communications and Development arrived at REVS Bowling dressed in Western costumes ready for a friendly competition of bowling.

More than 22 organizational teams came out that day. During the event, Century Group's bowlers pulled out some spectacular moves. One interesting moment is when Y won one of the games (see photo of the scores above), allowing the team to claim Nobody Could Beat Us(Y is an additional player we had entered into the computer by accident). Several members of the team took turns bowling during this player's turn, and to the team's surprise,Y had beat all of us at the end of the game!

Funding enables the Big Brothers organization to serve more children year over year and continue to build a team of professional staff focused on the safety and quality of the Big and Little matches.
